Terms and Conditions

Terms of Business

God Electrical Ltd

Draft revised: 13 October 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms of Business govern the provision of electrical installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, repair and related services by God Electrical Ltd.

Throughout these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to God Electrical Ltd, while "you", "your" and "Customer" refer to the individual, company or organisation purchasing our services.

By accepting our quotation or otherwise entering into an agreement for electrical works, you agree to these Terms, subject to your statutory rights and any separately agreed written conditions.

These Terms apply to domestic and commercial customers. Where applicable consumer protection law provides additional rights, those rights take precedence.

2. Estimates

An estimate provides an approximate indication of the anticipated cost of the proposed electrical works, based on the information available at the time.

Estimates are not fixed-price agreements unless expressly confirmed otherwise in writing.

The final cost may vary where additional work, unforeseen electrical defects, installation difficulties or other relevant circumstances are identified.

Where practicable, we will notify you of significant changes before proceeding and obtain your agreement to the revised scope and price.

3. Written Quotations

A written quotation sets out the agreed scope of electrical works and the price based on the information and conditions identified at the time of preparation.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, quotations will identify the labour, materials and VAT applicable to the work.

Any work not included within the agreed quotation may be subject to additional charges.

Changes requested by the Customer, concealed installation defects or unexpected site conditions may require a revised quotation.

Additional chargeable works will not proceed without appropriate customer authorisation, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary to make an installation safe.

If revised works are declined, we may suspend the affected work and invoice for services already properly completed and authorised materials or costs reasonably incurred, subject to applicable law.

4. Customer Responsibilities

The Customer agrees to:

  • Provide accurate details concerning the electrical work required.

  • Grant reasonable access to the premises during agreed working hours.

  • Inform us of known hazards, unsafe conditions or access restrictions.

  • Obtain necessary permissions from landlords, property owners or other relevant parties, where these are the Customer's responsibility.

  • Provide reasonable access to electrical installations, consumer units, switches, sockets and equipment.

  • Keep work areas reasonably clear and safe.

  • Ensure children, pets and other occupants are kept away from hazardous work areas.

  • Make payments in accordance with the agreed quotation and these Terms.

Where appropriate, we will explain any additional access or safety arrangements required before work begins.

5. Customer-Supplied Materials

Where the Customer agrees to supply electrical materials, accessories or equipment, the Customer is responsible for obtaining the agreed items and ensuring they are available when required.

All materials must be suitable for their intended purpose and compatible with the installation.

God Electrical Ltd reserves the right to refuse to install equipment that appears unsafe, unsuitable or non-compliant with applicable electrical requirements.

The Customer may be responsible for reasonable additional costs caused by defective, incorrect or unavailable customer-supplied materials, where those costs have been properly explained and authorised.

We remain responsible for carrying out our installation work with reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in this section excludes liability arising from our own defective workmanship or other statutory obligations.

6. Our Responsibilities

God Electrical Ltd will undertake agreed electrical works with reasonable care, skill and diligence.

We aim to:

  • Provide professional electrical installation and maintenance services.

  • Follow applicable electrical safety legislation and relevant technical standards.

  • Use suitable materials where supplied by us.

  • Take reasonable care to protect the Customer's property.

  • Keep customers informed about significant installation issues.

  • Carry out relevant inspection and testing.

  • Provide appropriate electrical documentation where included or legally required.

  • Complete work within the agreed period or, where no specific period is agreed, within a reasonable time.

We maintain relevant business insurance, including public liability insurance and employers' liability insurance where legally required.

7. Electrical Safety and Compliance

Electrical work will be undertaken in accordance with applicable legislation and relevant requirements of BS 7671, the IET Wiring Regulations.

Where appropriate, completed electrical work will be inspected and tested according to the nature and scope of the installation.

Electrical certificates or reports will be provided where legally required or included within the agreed service.

These may include an Electrical Installation Certificate, Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate or Electrical Installation Condition Report, as appropriate.

An inspection or certificate relating to specified works does not automatically confirm the safety of every part of an existing installation.

Any limitations, exclusions or outstanding electrical defects will be explained where relevant.

8. Existing Electrical Installations

During electrical installation, repair or inspection work, previously unidentified defects may become apparent.

These may include:

  • Damaged or deteriorated wiring.

  • Inadequate earthing or bonding.

  • Faulty protective devices.

  • Unsafe electrical connections.

  • Overloaded or unsuitable circuits.

  • Non-compliant previous alterations.

  • Inaccessible or concealed installation defects.

Where additional work is necessary, we will explain the findings and provide an appropriate quotation before carrying out further chargeable remedial work, except where immediate safety measures are reasonably necessary.

We may refuse to energise equipment or circuits where doing so would present an unacceptable electrical safety risk.

9. Additional Works and Variations

Any alteration to the agreed scope of work should be confirmed in writing where reasonably practicable.

Additional work may affect the overall price, materials required and completion date.

We will explain significant changes and obtain appropriate authorisation before proceeding.

Where extra work is declined, the original contract will continue so far as reasonably possible, unless doing so would be unsafe or impracticable.

10. Access and Delays

The Customer must provide reasonable access to the premises at agreed times.

We may need to rearrange works where access is unavailable, necessary materials have not arrived or circumstances prevent safe installation.

Any additional charges caused by Customer-related delays must be reasonable, properly explained and consistent with applicable law.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify the Customer of delays and agree revised arrangements.

11. Property Protection and Making Good

We will take reasonable care when working within your property.

Some electrical installations may require drilling, lifting accessible coverings, routing cables or making openings in walls and ceilings.

Unless specifically included within the quotation, decorative repairs, plastering, painting and general redecoration are excluded.

We will identify foreseeable disturbance where reasonably practicable.

We remain responsible for damage caused by our failure to exercise reasonable care and skill.

Waste generated by our work will be handled in accordance with the agreed scope and applicable requirements.

12. Materials and Equipment

Materials supplied by God Electrical Ltd will be suitable for their intended purpose and will meet applicable legal requirements.

Where materials are defective, we will address our responsibilities under the contract and relevant law.

To the extent permitted by law, ownership of separately identifiable goods supplied by us may remain with God Electrical Ltd until payment has been received in full.

This does not give us an automatic right to remove installed equipment or override any statutory rights.

13. Payment Terms

Unless different payment conditions are stated in the accepted quotation, payment is due within seven calendar days of the invoice date.

For larger electrical projects, we may agree:

  • An initial deposit.

  • Scheduled stage payments.

  • Payments linked to project milestones.

  • A final balance on completion.

Any such arrangements will be clearly stated in the quotation or contract.

All prices are subject to VAT where applicable and will be identified appropriately.

Payments may be made using the methods detailed on our invoice.

Customers should contact us promptly if they have a genuine concern about an invoice.

14. Late Payments

Where invoices remain unpaid after the agreed due date, God Electrical Ltd may issue reminders and take reasonable steps to recover outstanding sums.

For business-to-business transactions, statutory interest and applicable recovery costs may be claimed where permitted by the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 and related legislation.

For residential consumers, any late-payment charges must comply with applicable consumer protection law and must not be unfair or disproportionate.

We reserve the right to suspend further non-essential work for material non-payment where legally permitted and after reasonable notice.

15. Cancellation and Consumer Rights

Customers may request cancellation by contacting God Electrical Ltd using the details at the end of these Terms.

Where a consumer contract is concluded at a distance or away from our business premises, a statutory 14-day cancellation period may apply under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

The applicable cancellation rights depend on the circumstances and type of contract.

Where a consumer expressly requests that services begin during an applicable cancellation period, the consumer may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services supplied before cancellation, provided the legal requirements have been met.

Where the service has been fully performed following the required express request and acknowledgement, the statutory cancellation right may be lost.

Certain contracts for urgent repairs or maintenance specifically requested by the consumer may be exempt from the normal cancellation rights.

We will provide the required cancellation information and model cancellation form where applicable.

Business customers' cancellation arrangements will be governed by their agreed contract and applicable law.

16. Cancellation by God Electrical Ltd

We may suspend or terminate work where:

  • Continuing would present an unacceptable safety risk.

  • Required access is repeatedly refused.

  • Material contractual obligations are not met.

  • Agreed payments remain substantially overdue.

  • Circumstances arise that make performance unlawful or impossible.

We will provide reasonable notice where practicable and explain the reason for the decision.

Any final charges or refunds will be calculated according to the work properly completed, the contractual arrangements and applicable law.

17. Completion and Handover

Upon completion, we will carry out relevant final checks appropriate to the agreed works.

Any applicable certificate, report or other documentation will be provided in accordance with legal obligations and the agreed contract.

We encourage customers to inform us promptly if they identify any concerns.

The Customer's statutory rights are not affected by making payment or accepting handover documentation.

18. Workmanship and Guarantees

We take pride in the standard of our electrical work and aim to resolve genuine workmanship concerns promptly.

Any separate workmanship guarantee offered by God Electrical Ltd will be detailed in the quotation, invoice or relevant written guarantee.

Manufacturer warranties may apply to certain products and equipment, subject to their terms.

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights concerning services performed without reasonable care and skill or goods that do not meet applicable legal standards.

19. Liability

God Electrical Ltd accepts responsibility for losses and damage where required by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

We will not be responsible for losses resulting solely from circumstances outside our reasonable control where the law permits such limitation.

Any limitations of liability will be subject to applicable consumer and commercial contract law.

20. Events Beyond Our Control

Neither party will be responsible for a failure or delay caused by events beyond their reasonable control, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Such events may include severe weather, natural disasters, major utility interruptions, government restrictions or widespread supply disruptions.

The affected party will take reasonable steps to reduce the impact and communicate significant delays.

Where performance becomes impossible or substantially delayed, the parties will discuss appropriate alternatives, cancellation or refunds in accordance with the contract and applicable law.

21. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

We are committed to delivering professional electrical services and maintaining positive customer relationships.

Disputes will be dealt with by the courts having jurisdiction under applicable law.
